I had the honor to present the ‘CALL to ACTION’ launch of the Sinai Urban Health Institute’s research on the mental health of middle and high school girls in Chicago.
Here’s what resonated deeply with me:
1. Amplifying Voices: Nearly 900 CPS students shared their experiences, reminding us that listening is a powerful act of respect. Their stories illuminate the path forward.
2. Youth Leadership: The panel of young women was nothing short of inspirational. They are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they’re the leaders of today. Their courage and clarity are what we need in this chaotic world.
3. Moving Towards Solutions: Acknowledging the challenges is just the beginning. We must commit to actionable steps that support the mental health and well-being of our girls. Let’s advocate for strategies to tackle them head-on!
4. Community Collaboration: The synergy between organizations and the community is vital. Together, we can build a unified ecosystem that nurtures and supports our girls. This is a call to each of us. Are you in?
